Independent Resource Assignment Maintenance Agreement for RIPE NCC
If your organization currently holds or intends to request PI (Provider Independent) or LEGACY IP resources, securing an LIR (Local Internet Registry) sponsor is essential. These resources are allocated directly to your organization, granting you the flexibility to move them between different LIR sponsors as needed.
Only an authorized LIR, like LIR Services, can act as a resource sponsor and request new IP resources from the RIPE NCC on behalf of End User organizations.
It is important to note that resources without a valid sponsoring agreement must be returned to RIPE NCC.

An Autonomous System (AS) comprises a collection of IP networks managed by one or more network operators, following a unified and clearly defined routing policy. Each AS is uniquely identified by an Autonomous System Number (ASN) when exchanging external routing information.
This service is available for the RIPE NCC region and operates on an annual basis. Activation occurs by the end of the current year, with service availability running from January 1st to December 31st of the specified year.

IPv4 PI Prefix Sponsoring
If your organization holds or plans to acquire PI (Provider Independent) or LEGACY IPv4 resources, you must have a sponsoring LIR (Local Internet Registry). The sponsoring LIR takes on the responsibility of facilitating your use of these resources within the RIPE NCC framework. This includes assisting with administrative tasks such as maintaining resource records, ensuring proper registration in the RIPE database, and complying with RIPE policies.
